About The Position

The Department of Psychology within the College of Science and Engineering at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) seeks an outstanding faculty member for a nine-month lecturer position in Psychology beginning August 2026. This is a non-tenure track position with a teaching load of four courses per academic semester. This position also includes the opportunity for summer school teaching. Upon appointment, responsibilities will include departmental service and teaching a range of undergraduate psychology courses, such as Introductory Statistics for Behavioral Sciences, Experimental Research Methods, and General Psychology.

Requirements

  • Applicants must hold Master's Degree in Psychology by August 1, 2026 to be eligible for employment.
  • Prior teaching experience at the undergraduate level.

Nice To Haves

  • A Ph.D. in Psychology
  • A strong record of excellence in teaching Psychology courses at the undergraduate level
  • Prior experience teaching courses in research methods or other writing-intensive courses
  • Experience teaching core Psychology courses such as General Psychology
  • Face to face teaching experience
  • Experience in service activities at the departmental, university or student organization levels
  • Expertise in APA formatting
