Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Psychology or a closely-related discipline.
  • Previous experience teaching at least one of the following: introductory psychology, introduction to clincal psychology, social psychology, biopsychology, developmental psychology, abnormal psychology, cognitive psychology, experimental psychology, or statistics.
  • Knowledge and skills in using computer programs and platforms including Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint), and online classroom software (e.g., Zoom, Canvas, Blackboard, Camtasia).
  • This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UTSA and its infrastructure.

Nice To Haves

  • Ph.D. in Psychology.
  • Two years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
  • Highly preferred training in either cognitive psychology, experimental psychology or statistics for the behavioral sciences.
  • Highly prefer persons with experience teaching both in person and online courses and willingness and availability to teach using both platforms, with the majority of courses likely being taught in person, requiring the person to be on campus most days.
  • Prefer person with good interpersonal skills and experience managing labs and/or teaching assistants.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate course within area of expertise during fall semester.
  • Course instruction will be primarily face-to-face, and it is required that candidates be able and present to teach in that format.
  • Course instruction may also include hybrid and online formats dependent on department needs.
