About The Position

The Lecturer in Professional Golf Management at The Ohio State University is responsible for overseeing the Professional Golf Management (PGM) program, including its planning, organization, and management. This role involves teaching various PGA/PGM courses, advising students, coordinating with external organizations, and managing program budgets and curriculum. The position also serves as a liaison with the Professional Golfers Association and other stakeholders in the golf industry.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in marketing or business administration.
• 5 years of relevant experience required.
• Graduate of an accredited PGA/Professional Golf Management program.
• PGA member in good standing with extensive experience as a Head Golf Professional.
• Considerable experience in a management or administrative capacity in higher education.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and manage all aspects of the Professional Golf Management program.
• Teach PGA/PGM subject matter for designated courses.
• Serve as faculty coordinating advisor for academic advising for PGM students.
• Coordinate and advise the PGM student club.
• Act as the primary contact for external program support, grants, and contracts.
• Communicate and coordinate with the Professional Golfers Association and regional golf industries.
• Develop and implement the annual program budget and future plans.
• Monitor and counsel students on PGA checkpoints and playing ability tests.
• Publicize the program and meet with recruits and parents.
