About The Position

The Cal Poly Humboldt Psychology department is dedicated to providing undergraduate and graduate students with the skills to scientifically and critically evaluate psychological processes. Our courses address the impact of culture and context on human functioning, fostering an appreciation for differences through research and applied experiences. We prepare our students to apply their knowledge and skills from psychology to create a socially just and equitable society. The Department of Psychology is looking for temporary faculty to join their lecturer pool for the academic year 25/26. The position is available as needed and will cover various courses in psychology.

Requirements

  • M.A./M.S. or equivalent in the appropriate field.
  • Documented evidence of course-related content expertise.
  • Relevant experiences in counseling or school settings for graduate courses in Counseling and School Psychology programs.
  • Preference for candidates with an earned doctoral degree in a relevant field.
  • Documented successful teaching experience at the college level within the last three years.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching courses in Psychology of Critical Thinking, Introduction to Psychology, Introduction to Psychological Statistics, Foundation of Research Methods, and Applications of Research Methods in Psychology.
  • Commitment to diversity and equity in education.
