Requirements

  • MFA with teaching credential, MAEd, MEd or MA in Art Education for Art Education specialization.
  • MA in Art History or PhD in a closely related field for Art History specialization.
  • M.A. or equivalent in appropriate field for Art Studio specialization.
  • M.F.A. in a related emphasis or M.A. in appropriate field for Digital Media specialization.
  • M.A. in appropriate field for Film specialization, with preference for M.F.A. or Ph.D.
  • M.F.A. or M.A. in relevant field for Museum & Gallery Practices specialization.
  • M.F.A. in a related emphasis or M.A. in appropriate field for Photography specialization.
  • M.F.A. with a related emphasis or M.A. in appropriate field for Sculpture specialization.
  • Demonstrated successful teaching experience within the past five years.
  • Evidence of mastery/competency in the specific subject matter of the course(s).

Nice To Haves

  • Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Art Education for Art Education specialization.
  • PhD in Art History for Art History specialization.
  • M.F.A. in Studio Art or related field for Art Studio specialization.
  • M.F.A. in a Digital Art/Digital Media emphasis for Digital Media specialization.
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness via evaluation of supervisors or colleagues for Film specialization.
  • M.A. in Museum Studies for Museum & Gallery Practices specialization.
  • M.F.A. in a Photography emphasis for Photography specialization.
  • Familiarity with mold-making, welding, and foundry for Sculpture specialization.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in the Department of ART+FILM as needed.
  • Prepare course materials and deliver lectures.
  • Assess and evaluate student performance.
  • Engage in professional development and scholarship activities.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to enhance the educational experience.
