About The Position

California State University, East Bay is seeking qualified candidates to teach coursework in various areas including Multimedia Journalism, Media Production, Photojournalism, Public Relations, Advertising, Communication Organizational Studies, Media Studies, Research Methods, Rhetoric, Argumentation, Public Speaking, and Interpersonal Communication. Teaching assignments may occur at the Hayward campus, Concord Center, and/or online. Faculty members are expected to perform all duties within the state of California.

Requirements

• Master's degree in a relevant area of specialization (Ph.D. preferred).
• Experience in producing documentaries or media for social justice is preferred for Photojournalism and Media Production coursework.
• Evidence of scholarship, creative work, or teaching effectiveness may be required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with media in other countries.
• Experience in peer-review of teaching and student evaluations.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in specified areas of communication and media studies.
• Develop and deliver course content and materials.
