About The Position

The English Department at CWU is accepting applications to fill current and future full-time, part-time, quarterly and annual appointment lecturer positions to teach classes in the courses/subject areas listed below. There is need for Composition, Technical Writing and Business Writing instructors on the Ellensburg campus and for online courses. The courses include ENG 101 and 102 Composition, ENG 310 Technical Writing, ENG 311 Business Writing, and other courses as needed.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in English
• Some college-level teaching experience

Nice To Haves

• Terminal degree in English, MFA or PhD
• Experience with Learning Management Systems such as Blackboard or Canvas

Responsibilities

• Teach ENG 101 and 102 Composition
• Teach ENG 310 Technical Writing
• Teach ENG 311 Business Writing
• Teach other courses as needed

Benefits

• Pay based on the terms and conditions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement
• Minimum remuneration for the non-tenure-track titles for the 2025-2026 academic year will be as follows: Lecturer: $1,188 per workload unit for faculty with terminal degrees; $950 per workload unit for faculty without terminal degrees; Senior Lecturer: $1,307 per workload unit for faculty with terminal degrees; $1,044 per workload unit for faculty without terminal degrees.
