About The Position

The Communication Sciences and Disorders Program in the Department of Communication Arts and Sciences is collecting application materials for a pool of lecturers with positions available as determined by need during the 2026-27 academic year. Appointments from the lecturer pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term.

Requirements

  • The minimum education requirement for a lecturer appointment is a Masters degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or equivalent.
  • CMSD 156 – Bachelor’s degree and teaching, cultural, and sign language experience. (ASHA certification and CA licensure are not required for this course.)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching or clinical experience in the subject area of interest.
  • Currency in the field with an active California state license and ASHA certification of clinical competence in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Preference for candidates with experience working with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

  • Lecturer positions in the department carry responsibilities in the areas of teaching.
  • Teaching assignments are based upon qualifications of the individual and the needs of the department.
