About The Position

The Department of Nursing is has instituted a new program offering with the PhD in Nursing Education. The three grant funded faculty positions will contribute to this process through teaching, research and guidance in the area of nursing education. They will share responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions for the good of the institution. Responsibilities: Nursing faculty teach in the classroom and conduct clinical teaching. Research and publications are expected for tenure and promotion. Other areas of responsibility include curriculum development; participate in departmental and college-wide activities and committees, such as, grant writing, assessment, faculty development, mentoring student projects, and academic advisement.

Requirements

  • Master's of Science Degree in Nursing (MSN) required.
  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Nursing required.
  • Strong preference will be given to candidates with didactic experience and simulation experience at the collegiate level.
  • A strong, demonstrated record of clinical expertise, experience with assessment and evaluation of student learning outcomes is required.
  • Expertise in nursing care throughout the lifespan is required.
  • Experience with total program evaluation and accreditation preferred.
  • Must hold a current or be eligible for an unencumbered license to practice nursing in Maryland, Washington, DC, or a compact state.
  • Experiences with nursing research and publication.
  • May be required to teach across disciplines.

  • Evidence of an active record of scholarship and service at the program, department and university levels preferred.
