About The Position

West Virginia University School of Nursing Bridgeport Department located at Bridgeport, WV invites applications for a Lecturer position in the Non-Tenure Track. This is a part-time (11.25/hpw), 4.5-month, non-benefits eligible position. This position will report to the department chairperson.

Requirements

• Master’s degree (MSN) in nursing and one (1) year of professional nursing practice experience, or Bachelor's degree (BSN) with five (5) years of professional nursing practice experience.
• Required to have unencumbered WV RN License by position start date.
• Evidence of current experience in teaching sufficient to demonstrate professional competence.
• Initial appointment requires: two (2) years of professional nursing practice experience.

Nice To Haves

• Applicants with two (2) years of teaching experience in nursing are encouraged to apply.
• Applicants with an earned doctorate in nursing or a related field are encouraged to apply.
• Preferred experience in Medical Surgical Nursing.
• Preferred experience in Community/Public Health Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Clinical teaching in BSN programs.
• Clinical coordination, including scheduling clinical rotations, working with clinical sites to provide student orientation and maintaining student clinical files.
• Teaching of learning labs may be expected depending on faculty expertise and program needs.
• Assessment of student learning.
