About The Position

The School of Molecular & Cellular Biology in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign seeks applicants for a teaching position in the disciplines of Physiology and Human Anatomy at the rank of Lecturer. The position involves teaching a range of courses in the school with a focus on disciplines of Physiology and Human Anatomy.

Requirements

• PhD in Physiology, Human Anatomy, or closely related discipline
• 3 years of teaching experience at the college or university level in Physiology and Anatomy

• Evidence of instruction that includes student-centered and inclusive practices
• Discipline-based Education and/or Pedagogical Research experience

Responsibilities

• Teach 5 courses, or their equivalent, in any Fall, Spring, and Summer terms cycle. These may include large lecture courses, multi-section lab courses, and small discussion sections.
• Supervise Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTAs) and/or Undergraduate Learning Assistants (ULAs) for these courses, when GTAs or ULAs are involved.
• Devise and deliver assigned courses utilizing evidence-based practices such as backward design and employing active learning strategies, maintain and improve current course materials, and develop or revised course content as needed.
• Assist the MCB Instructional Program team in supporting students in the School of MCB by participation in academic advising, mentoring, recruitment, and other ways as needed.
