About The Position

The Department of Curriculum & Instruction in the College of Education and Human Development seeks applications for a full-time non-tenure track Lecturer of Literacy position to begin in Fall 2026. A regional comprehensive university, Texas A&M University-San Antonio (A&M-SA) has approximately 8000 students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs. Part of the statewide Texas A&M University System, the University is a Hispanic Serving Institution. Quality performance will be expected in the area of teaching. The standard teaching load for a Lecturer is 5 courses per semester (5/5). Summer teaching assignments may be available for additional pay but are not guaranteed. Successful candidates will teach undergraduate and/or graduate level courses primarily in the area of literacy education such as early literacy methods, Science of Teaching Reading (STR), language arts methods, and other general topics in education. Teaching assignments may include day, night, and/or weekend classes.

Requirements

  • Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution in Curriculum & Instruction and/ or Reading or a related field.
  • K-12 teacher certification with a minimum of 5 years of K-12 teaching experience.
  • Experience and background in Literacy Education.
  • Experience working with all cultural populations.

Nice To Haves

  • University teaching experience for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Experience using learning management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate level courses primarily in the area of literacy education such as early literacy methods, Science of Teaching Reading (STR), language arts methods, and other general topics in education.
