About The Position

Texas A&M University-Texarkana is pursuing an aggressive program growth agenda over the next five (5) years. The Lecturer of Kinesiology will be responsible for teaching courses in the lower divisions of the Kinesiology curriculum. The appointment will be a 9-month position with possible opportunities each Summer. This position starts in the Fall of 2026.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Kinesiology, Physical Education or a related field in Exercise Science, Coaching and Administration, and Human Performance
  • Teaching experience at a higher education institute
  • Ability to travel and work beyond normal office hours.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Canvas or other online software
  • Experience teaching courses in the Kinesiology program and curriculum development.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience in national accreditation for educational programs

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in Pre-Physical Therapy, Exercise Science, and EC-12 Physical Education.
  • Teach up to 15 SCH per academic semester, including associated laboratory courses, and up to two courses in the summer in credentialed area(s)
  • Student advisement as assigned.
  • Actively participate in program development and course revisions.
  • Perform appropriate levels of service within the division, college, university, and region. This may include national and international organizations related to Kinesiology.
  • Work with the Chair and program coordinator to develop collaborative relationships with local and regional organizations and communities.
  • Serve on search committees for new program faculty.
  • As time and budgets permit, promote enrollment in programs on campus and within the broader community.
  • Maintain program memberships or affiliations with relevant professional associations.
