About The Position

The College of Engineering and Science (COES) at Louisiana Tech University invites applications for a Lecturer position in Mechanical Engineering, with an anticipated start date of September 2026. The Lecturer position at Louisiana Tech includes a promotion pathway based on performance and contributions, allowing advancement from Lecturer to Senior Lecturer and Distinguished Lecturer. Requirements

  • A Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline with significant overlap.
  • Demonstrated potential for excellence in undergraduate education, including classroom teaching, laboratory instruction, and student mentoring.
  • Ability to deliver existing Mechanical Engineering courses across the curriculum, with particular interest in candidates who can contribute to: o Thermal–fluids, heat transfer, and energy systems o Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), systems modeling, and digital engineering concepts

Nice To Haves

  • Substantial teaching experience in engineering or engineering technology is preferred.
  • Ability to develop new curricular content in response to emerging program and industry needs.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong pedagogical and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to student success, program service, and continuous improvement.
  • Interest in hands-on and project-based learning environments.
