The Literature and Creative Writing program in the Department of English at Baylor University is seeking two full-time lecturers to join their faculty, effective Fall 2025. The successful candidates will be responsible for teaching creative writing and upper-level literature classes, as well as core curriculum classes. This position is designed for collaborative faculty members who demonstrate excellence in college-level teaching and are eager to contribute to the needs of a vibrant and growing program. The specific areas of expertise in creative writing and literature are open, but there is a particular interest in candidates specializing in creative nonfiction, playwriting/dramatic writing, or graphic novels, especially with a focus on ethnic studies or literary editing and publishing. The Literature and Creative Writing program at Baylor University offers opportunities for all faculty, both lecturer-line and tenure-line, to develop and teach classes in their areas of specialization. This appointment is a renewable full-time position that is benefits-eligible, with a clear promotion path: a 6-year promotion path to Senior Lecturer for successful candidates and a 12-year promotion path to Teaching Professor for those who demonstrate exceptional performance.
