Lecturer Interior Design

About the position

The lecturer position at Georgia Southern University requires teaching a combination of lecture and studio courses within the undergraduate programs of the School of Human Ecology. The role involves providing service to the department and engaging in student success and professional development initiatives. This is a 10-month, non-tenure track appointment, reporting to the School of Human Ecology Chair.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses in Interior Design and related fields.
• Engage in student success initiatives.
• Participate in professional development activities.
• Provide service to the department.

Requirements

• Earned MFA in Interior Design, Master's in Architecture, or a closely related field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Interior Design or Architecture by August 1, 2025.
• NCIDQ certification or eligibility with certification to be completed within two years.
• Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives.
• Commitment to best practices in instruction, mentoring, and curriculum design.

Nice-to-haves

• Evidence of successful college/university-level teaching experience.
• Ability to contribute to various courses including studio design and professional practice.
• Engagement with the interior design profession and professional organizations.
