About the position
The University of Virginia School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS) seeks applicants to fill a tenure-ineligible instructional position for the Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies Program during the Summer 2025 term. SCPS helps working adults finish their degrees and advance their careers. The school offers a variety of online and in-person programs including bachelor's degree completion programs, professional certificates, a master's in public safety, and other career accelerators. The course to be taught is "ISSS 3045 - The Science and Practice of Mindfulness." This course considers the latest scientific findings about the mind-body connection, explores formal and informal mindfulness practices, the contextual background of mindfulness, and applies them to a variety of professions and settings.
Responsibilities
- Teach the course 'ISSS 3045 - The Science and Practice of Mindfulness' during the Summer 2025 term.
- Engage with non-traditional students in both online asynchronous and synchronous formats.
- Apply scientific findings about mindfulness to various professions and settings.
Requirements
- Minimum of a master's degree or terminal degree in an appropriate field of study.
- Commitment to teaching non-traditional students online.
- Preferably have professional experience in the field.
Nice-to-haves
- Terminal degree is strongly preferred.
