The University of Maine School of Computing and Information Science (SCIS) and Department of Mathematics and Statistics jointly seek applicants for a teaching faculty position at the rank of lecturer, with an anticipated start date of September 1, 2025 or January 1, 2026. The successful candidate will be expected to be an effective and engaging teacher, to advise undergraduate students, and to collaborate with colleagues to refine curriculum, recruit students, and increase student success. The typical teaching assignment is three courses per semester at the undergraduate level. The appointment is shared 75% in SCIS and 25% in Mathematics and Statistics. Some service to the School, College, and University is expected. It is assumed that 90% of the lecturer’s time and effort will be dedicated to teaching-related duties, and 10% to other activities, including service and activities that advance the lecturer’s professional development. Summer teaching opportunities may be available, with additional compensation.
