The University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) is seeking a Lecturer in Exercise Science for a non-tenure track, nine-month position starting in August 2025. The successful candidate will join a team of twelve faculty members in the Exercise Science program, which serves approximately 630 undergraduate majors. This role involves teaching a variety of undergraduate courses, mentoring students, engaging with the community, and contributing to the program and university service. The position is based on the main UNCW campus and requires collaboration in an interdisciplinary academic environment.

  • Teach a variety of undergraduate Exercise Science courses.
  • Mentor students and provide academic guidance.
  • Foster community engagement through service activities.
  • Contribute to program, school, college, and university service.
  • Develop and deliver engaging in-person content in lecture and laboratory settings.
  • Master's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of at least 18 graduate-level semester hours of coursework related to Exercise Science.
  • At least two years of successful college-level teaching experience in Exercise Science or a related curriculum.
  • At least three years of employment experience in Exercise Science or related fields.
  • Experience teaching a variety of Exercise Science courses at the college level.
  • Proven ability to establish collaborative relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Possession of relevant professional certifications (e.g., ACSM, NSCA).
  • Experience providing applied learning opportunities and global experiences for students.
  • Professional development opportunities.

  • Engagement in a collaborative academic environment.
