About The Position

The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) is seeking a dedicated Lecturer in Exercise Science within the Department of Health and Human Performance for the 2025-2026 academic year. This in-person position involves teaching undergraduate courses, supervising practicums, advising students, and participating in departmental committees. Requirements

• Earned master's degree in exercise science or kinesiology from an accredited university.
• Current enrollment in a master's program in exercise science or kinesiology with the degree to be conferred prior to Fall 2025.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in teaching at the college level.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching and service in exercise science or kinesiology.
• Experience in teaching in a clinical laboratory in exercise science.
• Work experience in a clinical setting, strength and conditioning, and/or research.
• Certifications in Certified Strength and Conditioning (CSCS) and Certified Exercise Physiologist (EP-C) are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses in exercise science and kinesiology.
• Serve as a field supervisor for practicums.
• Advise students on academic and career matters.
• Participate in university, college, and departmental committees and task forces.
• Incorporate technology and student-engaged pedagogies in teaching.
• Conduct scholarship work in the field of exercise science.
• Teach online or hybrid courses as required.
• Engage in service to the department, college, university, and community.
