The Department of Finance and Business Law in the College of Business at James Madison University invites applications for a renewable term appointment at the rank of Lecturer beginning in the Fall of 2026. Lecturer appointments are non-tenure track but promotable. This is a full-time benefits-eligible position. About the Department: The Finance and Business Law Department is staffed by 17 full-time faculty with 14 faculty in finance and 3 faculty in Business Law. The department serves both Finance and Quantitative Finance majors and college business law courses. FIN & BLAW faculty have received numerous awards and recognition for outstanding teaching, service, and research. JMU subscribes to both the Standard & Poor's Compustat, the University of Chicago's Center for Research in Securities Prices (CRSP), MSCI ESG KLD and NYSE TAQ databases through WRDS, and students and faculty have access to Bloomberg through the Gaglioti Capital Markets Laboratory. About the College: The AACSB-accredited College of Business includes nationally ranked undergraduate and graduate programs. The college includes the Center for Entrepreneurship, Center for Professional Selling, Capital Markets Lab, and Madison Consulting. Our very successful alumni hold C-suite positions at major corporations. The college has approximately 5,300 students in its AACSB programs and is highly regarded across the JMU campus community.
