About The Position

The College of Engineering solicits applications for one staff Lecturer position for Purdue University, West Lafayette campus to support the teaching of ENGR 13300 (Transforming Ideas to Innovation, EPICS) and the Engineering Projects in Community Service (EPICS) Program. Successful candidate will be expected to teach one to two sections of ENGR 13300 each semester and supervise multiple EPICS Teams. Teaching assignments are subject to change in the best interest of the College. The position is a non-faculty rank, in-person and academic year staff teaching position, with continuing appointment.

Requirements

  • B.S. and M.S. in Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience in the practice or teaching of design, engineering, computing or technology.
  • Ability to take initiative to solve problems and assume responsibility.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to changing learning environments.
  • Experience mentoring project-based courses, especially those satisfying capstone requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Ph.D. in Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience mentoring students' teams through their design projects.

Responsibilities

  • Teach one to two sections of ENGR 13300 each semester.
  • Supervise multiple EPICS Teams.
  • Adapt teaching assignments as needed in the best interest of the College.
