About The Position

The University of Hawaii is seeking a Lecturer for the Human Anatomy and Physiology course for the Fall 2024, Spring 2025, and Summer 2025 semesters at Windward Community College. This position is part of a lecturer applicant pool and is non-tenurial, pending availability of funds and actual staffing requirements. The role may include instructional assignments involving distance education.

Requirements

• Master's in Human Anatomy and Physiology or Master's in Zoology, or any Health or Biological Science with 9 credits graduate coursework in vertebrate anatomy and/or physiology or the equivalent.
• All minimum qualifications must be from a regionally accredited institution and met by the effective date of appointment.

Nice To Haves

• Teaching experience at a community college level.
• Demonstrated ability to work with adult learners and communicate clearly.
• Familiarity with competency-based instruction and behavioral objectives.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses in the discipline and/or Interdisciplinary Studies.
• Maintain a minimum of one office hour per week for each course taught.
• Prepare course syllabus and reports related to teaching and student progress.
• Work under the supervision of the discipline coordinator/division chairperson in integrating teaching efforts with other instructors in the discipline area.
• May include instructional assignments involving distance education.
