About the position

The University of Virginia School of Law seeks applications to fill one or more lecturer/adjunct faculty positions for the 2024-25 academic year. The University of Virginia School of Law is consistently recognized as one of the top law schools in the country, with a dynamic and diverse faculty who excel in teaching, scholarship, and service. Students routinely rank the Law School's faculty as best in the nation compared to all other law schools in the country. The environment at the Law School is both active and supportive, with a strong sense of collegiality among students, faculty, and staff and a commitment to excellence and service. These lecturer/adjunct faculty positions are part-time, non-tenure-track, and without benefits ("faculty wage"), and they typically involve teaching one upper-level elective course during the fall or spring semester of the academic year. Responsibilities

  • Teach one upper-level elective course during the fall or spring semester of the academic year.
  • Develop course materials and assessments for the elective course.
  • Engage with students and provide academic support as needed.

Requirements

  • A J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school, or an equivalent degree from a non-U.S. law school is strongly preferred.
