About the position

Reporting directly to the Health and Welfare Benefits Manager, this position is responsible for managing leave and ADA accommodation and interactive process within the guidelines of federal and state laws, and company policies. You will provide best-in-class concierge support for Team Members, managers, and internal partners during the full leave cycle and ADA interactive process while working directly with third party administrators.

Responsibilities

  • Administers Leave of Absence Programs and policies, engaging with team members, HR partners, management and third-party administrators to ensure appropriate support and processes are followed.
  • Researches and resolves issues accordingly.
  • Engage in the interactive process associated with ADA Accommodations and the Pregnancy Workers Fairness Act.
  • Accurately and timely process high volume of leave actions in Company payroll, timekeeping and HR systems.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of leave laws, PWFA and ADA regulations.
  • Collaborates with Workers Compensation vendor to process employee claims.
  • Collaborate with the HRIS team to ensure successful vendor interfaces are in place.
  • Develop, generate and present reports to analyze leave data and trends.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert for the leave programs in alignment and under the general direction and guidance of HR leadership and Legal.
  • Process State Disability Claims as necessary.
  • Reconciles/analyzes payroll files or resolves individual pay inquiries as related to leaves.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal leave laws, providing support and project execution when new laws develop.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in US disability/leave administration and ADA accommodation.
  • Deep understanding and application of federal and state disability and paid family leave laws (i.e., ADA, FMLA, PFWA, CFRA, HIPPA, etc.) in a multi-state environment.
  • Independent worker and must be able to regularly exercise discretion, handle conflict and be firm when required.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to analyze complex questions and determine the best course of actions or recommendation.
  • Organized, detail oriented and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to take initiative and make decisions under pressure.

Nice-to-haves

  • Workday experience preferred.
  • Project management skills.
  • Experience in a high volume environment or large employer.
  • Experience in administering a CA VDI Plan a plus.
