About The Position

The Leave of Absence Administrator at PacificSource Health Plans is responsible for managing the administration of leave programs, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, and providing guidance to employees and managers throughout the leave process. This role involves interpreting policies, handling sensitive information, and collaborating with HR leadership to support employees during their leave of absence and return to work.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Human Resources or related field, with 2 years of leave of absence experience required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, and strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Extensive knowledge of leave requirements and legal protections under FMLA, ADA, and other applicable laws.

  • Experience with AbsenceTracker preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret and administer leave programs and policies in accordance with applicable federal and multi-state employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, and others.
  • Research eligibility for leave occurrences based on various factors and make recommendations on leave approval/denial.
  • Utilize leave of absence and ADA tracking systems to ensure timely completion of tasks and compliance with timelines.
  • Collaborate with the leave of absence team to provide assistance or coverage during increased workloads or absences.
  • Administer the protected leave process from initial notice to return to work, including tracking and gathering required paperwork.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with managers, HR Business Partners, and HR leadership regarding employee leave status.
  • Guide employees and supervisors through the entire leave process, ensuring awareness of responsibilities and documentation requirements.
  • Advise on the interaction of leave laws with paid time off, workers compensation, and disability benefits.
  • Monitor hours used and leave expiration, coordinating return-to-work details with employees and supervisors.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on legal changes related to leave and recommend revisions to company policies for compliance.
