About The Position

This position is required to sew leather flatwork and cushions for upholstered furniture. It is a part-time position, working less than 30 hours per week.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous sewing experience a plus
• Prolonged periods of sitting and performing repetitive tasks
• Must be able to work in noisy environments
• Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble product or operate machine as directed
• Occasional lifting/carrying objects up to 25 lbs.; rarely lifting/carrying objects 26-75 lbs.

Nice To Haves

• Previous sewing experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Adhere to established sewing standards including: ½ seams, sewing is straight and in alignment with cover pattern, and no drop stitches
• Adjust machines to stitch various leather materials
• Good hand-eye coordination, concentration skills, and a demonstrated attention to detail
• Reads and follows instructions to sew specs and notes provided
• Maintains equipment and work area in an orderly manner
• Able to sew Flatwork for different product, top stitch and welt
• Must be able to work with different types of sewing machines
• Must be able to work off production work ticket to sew leather to request
• Works as part of a team to meet or exceed production goals
• Must follow all safety policies and procedures
• All other duties as assigned
