About The Position
The Leasing Class D Technician position is an entry-level role that demands proficiency in performing light maintenance and repairs, including lube, oil, and filter changes, as well as balancing and rotating tires and flushing cooling systems. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our leasing department by handling all preventive maintenance tasks and other necessary repairs. The ideal candidate will possess the skills required to maintain the efficiency and reliability of our fleet. Attention to detail and a commitment to quality service are essential for success in this position. By maintaining our vehicles in top condition, Technician - Class D plays a vital role in supporting our leasing operations. A D tech should be eager to expand their knowledge and skills, continuously seeking opportunities for professional development and hands-on experience to become a more proficient and versatile technician.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Must have a valid Driver License
- Must be building a workable toolbox
Responsibilities
- Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with factory standards
- Conducts all Preventative Maintenance and DOT inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and optimal vehicle performance
- Assist other technicians in heavy-duty truck repair
- Attend training sessions to gain knowledge and experience
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area
- Neatly recorded job summary for all assigned repairs
- Participate in required educational training as assigned by the Leasing Service Manager
- Complete required training in designated timeframe
- Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts
- Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer
- Documents all work performed on the repair order
- Keeps abreast of machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor
- Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals
- Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner
- Attends company training as required
- Maintains and cleans vehicles and surrounding shop area
- Other duties as assigned
