About The Position

Leasing Counselor is responsible showing, and leasing apartments to seniors 55 and older, developing and implementing successful marketing plans. In addition, Leasing Counselor collaborates with colleagues in all departments and divisions of the company to promote and ensure exceptional customer service. Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s Degree is sales/marketing or business is preferred.
  • Three to five years’ experience in sales, preferably apartment leasing.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer skills including data entry, email, attachments, Word documents and excel spreadsheets.
  • Supervisory skills and the ability to direct Marketing and Leasing functions.
  • Superior sales skills, preferably with experience selling to seniors and/or apartment leasing experience.
  • Ability to set and meet sales goals.
  • Administrative, management, and organizational skills.
  • Possess reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Exercise ethical and sound decision making and judgment.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills.
  • Communicate effectively and maintain good working relations with personnel in all facility departments, other health-related individuals, and community agency personnel.
  • Must be willing to: Keep abreast of current industry and market changes and standards.
  • Attend approved professional meetings, workshops, and conferences related to assisted living and dementia care to meet continuing education requirements
  • Learn and follow company policy and procedure
  • Work weekends as needed

  • Previous experience in senior living or health care sales and marketing is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Showing and leasing apartments to seniors 55 and older
  • Developing and implementing successful marketing plans
  • Collaborating with colleagues to promote customer service
  • Welcoming and greeting on-site visitors
  • Answering incoming calls and directing them appropriately
  • Taking and retrieving messages
  • Assisting with lease preparation and resident calls
  • Covering the office and other job-related tasks
  • Supporting the mission, vision, policies, and goals of the organization
  • Maintaining a close working relationship with the Executive Director and other department leaders
  • Making decisions and leading the marketing team
  • Maintaining good interpersonal relationships with team members, residents, family members, and other staff
  • Working as part of a leadership team on various projects
  • Developing and implementing an effective marketing plan for the community
  • Utilizing a marketing database to track and foster relationships with potential residents
  • Actively participating in team meetings to communicate sales calls, move-ins, and upcoming events
  • Marketing externally through person-to-person sales calls and documenting details in the database
  • Responding to phone inquiries and documenting information in the database
  • Scheduling appointments for potential residents and their families
  • Conducting tours of the community and answering questions
  • Scheduling and supporting lease signings
  • Completing initial paperwork for new residents, ensuring all necessary documents are present and complete
  • Maintaining market-specific knowledge and updates, including hospitals and competitors
  • Maintaining a current list of referral sources
  • Developing and maintaining new relationships to encourage referrals
  • Developing and implementing special events to increase public awareness and traffic into the community
  • Monitoring trends for inquiry, deposits, move-ins, occupancy, closing, move-outs, and lost leads
  • Consistently preparing and submitting reporting tools and reports accurately and timely
  • Communicating knowledge of community and industry trends to appropriate staff
  • Preparing and mailing information packets for inquiries
