About The Position

The Leasing Consultant is responsible for marketing, showing, and leasing apartments to prospective tenants. This role involves responding to all applicants and residents in a courteous and prompt manner regarding leasing, marketing, and resident relations. The position requires maintaining an accurate and updated inventory of available apartments, as well as lists of prospective residents and current information concerning renewals.

Requirements

• Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Six months to one year related leasing experience and/or training.
• Excellent people and communication skills.
• Well organized, professional, friendly, enthusiastic, and diligent.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Knowledge of Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software, and Internet software.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in property management or leasing.
• Familiarity with housing regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maintains an accurate updated inventory of apartments available to rent.
• Establishes rapport with each prospective resident and determines their needs and desires.
• Schedules appointments for showing market-ready apartments and follows up on undecided prospects.
• Verifies rental applications for accuracy and completeness per company and housing regulations.
• Prepares move-in and welcome packages.
• Assists in the move-in/move-out process and ensures apartments are clean and attractive.
• Assists in the collection of rent and other monies due.
• Processes service requests for maintenance service.
• Assists in the preparation of the community newsletter.
• Assists Community Manager and/or Assistant Community Manager with their responsibilities.
