About the position

As a Leasing Consultant, you will meet with prospective residents, identify their housing needs, and determine eligibility based on established criteria. You will show vacant and model suites, quote rental rates, and follow up with leads. Your role will also involve managing social media activities to increase engagement and maintaining lease records and files. You will support the applicant screening process and ensure apartments are ready for occupancy.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with prospective residents and identify their housing needs.
  • Interview prospective residents to determine eligibility based on established criteria.
  • Show vacant and model suites and property amenities.
  • Quote established rental rates and promotions.
  • Make follow-up calls and pursue rental status.
  • Collect funds related to applications, security deposits, and rentals.
  • Manage all internet leads and ensure proper follow-up.
  • Maintain social media activities and strive to increase engagement.
  • Complete applicant screening process and prepare appropriate correspondence.
  • Prepare leases and related leasing addendums.
  • Maintain lease records and files.
  • Maintain property waiting list and other updates to various records.
  • Support and ensure proper use of on-site property management software.
  • Inspect apartments to ensure they are ready for occupancy.
  • Distribute keys and move-in packages at lease signing.
  • Maintain current knowledge of marketing and leasing techniques.
  • Assist in mentoring newly hired leasing consultants.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required; Associate degree in Customer service/Hospitality preferred.
  • 1 – 2 years of Leasing or sales experience required.
  • 1 – 2 years of experience working in multisite preferred.
  • Valid driver's license depending on property preferred.
  • Skills required include knowledge of fair housing laws, affordable housing programs, Microsoft Office, personal accountability, persuasiveness, and customer service.
  • Preferred skill: Yardi/CRM.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in customer service or hospitality.
  • Knowledge of local agencies or attractions of interest to residents.
