About The Position

The Leasing Consultant at Valiant Residential is responsible for managing leasing activities, ensuring resident satisfaction, and maintaining occupancy levels within the community. This role involves engaging with prospects, processing applications, and providing exceptional customer service to create a positive living experience for residents.

Requirements

  • Experience in working with the public and/or sales.
  • Fair Housing Certification, or willingness to obtain before interacting with prospective residents.
  • Demonstrate an ability to support and contribute to the community team.
  • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Operate telephone, personal computer/keyboard, Microsoft Office including Word and MS Outlook, and community software.
  • Must possess a positive attitude and the ability to smile under all circumstances.
  • Participate in training to comply with new or existing laws.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Two (2) years experience in previous relevant customer service.
  • Neat, clean, and professional throughout the workday.
  • Comply with expectations as demonstrated in the employee handbook.
  • Demonstrate ability to diffuse and respond to customer concerns.

Responsibilities

  • Greet prospects and qualify by covering all criteria.
  • Prepare move-in packages and lease paperwork.
  • Record all telephone and in-person visits on appropriate reports.
  • File guest cards and maintain them according to established procedures.
  • Inspect models and available units; communicate service needs to the Community Manager.
  • Have prospects complete applications and secure deposits in accordance with procedures and Fair Housing requirements.
  • Update the availability report and process applications for approval.
  • Submit processed applications to the Community Manager for approval.
  • Assist in monitoring renewals and distribute renewal notices.
  • Monitor advertising effectiveness and gather information about market competition.
  • Professionally represent the company at all times.
  • Accept rental payments and give them to the Assistant Community Manager.
  • Type leases, complete paperwork, and input information on the Yardi System accurately.
  • Review lease paperwork with the Community Manager before obtaining signatures.
  • Assist management team with various tasks as required.
  • Consistently implement policies of the community.
