About The Position

The Leasing Consultant is responsible for marketing, showing, and leasing apartments to prospective tenants. This role involves responding to all applicants and residents in a courteous and prompt manner regarding leasing, marketing, and resident relations. The position requires maintaining an accurate and updated inventory of available apartments, as well as lists of prospective residents and current information concerning renewals. The Leasing Consultant establishes rapport with prospective residents, determines their needs, and presents the community in a manner that addresses those needs.

Requirements

  • Bilingual - Spanish/English is a plus.
  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • Six months to one year related leasing experience and/or training.
  • Excellent people and communication skills.
  • Well organized, professional, friendly, enthusiastic, and diligent.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains an accurate updated inventory of apartments available to rent.
  • Establishes rapport with each prospective resident and determines their needs.
  • Schedules appointments for showing market-ready apartments.
  • Verifies rental applications for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepares move-in and welcome packages.
  • Assists in the move-in/move-out process.
  • Assists in the collection of rent and other monies due.
  • Assists in preparation of community newsletter.
  • Assists Community Manager and/or Assistant Community Manager with their responsibilities.
