As a Lease Operator, the focus remains on prioritizing safety and compliance in all activities. The operator conducts operational assessments of assigned wells, equipment, and plant facilities, ensuring the submission of daily assessment reports on well production, equipment performance, and maintenance activities. The role involves executing production tests, monitoring minor subsurface well maintenance (non-BOPE jobs), and ensuring the maintenance of company equipment. The operator reviews operating parameters recorded into systems if SCADA is unavailable and coordinates with Optimization Operators, and DSC/PA concerning wells and lease activities. Proficiency in ProdView, Eagle App, Cygnet, and Pi is demonstrated. The operator maintains regulatory, environmental, and safety compliance and assists in moderately complex oversight operational tasks at lease sites, prioritizing projects, and making recommendations for optimization.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/General Education Diploma (GED)/Higher Secondary education is required.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably in E&P Operations specializing in areas such as Lease Site Management, Equipment Maintenance, and Pipeline Operations or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct operational assessments of assigned wells, equipment, and plant facilities.
  • Ensure the submission of daily assessment reports on well production, equipment performance, and maintenance activities.
  • Execute production tests.
  • Perform minor repairs.
  • Ensure general upkeep (fences, signs, weeds, trash) and maintenance of an organized work environment at lease sites.
  • Perform regular monitoring of control panels, gauges, and meters to ensure proper equipment functioning.
  • Lead the setup and installation of new equipment as required.
  • Maintain positive relationships with local, state, and federal representatives, contractors, and surface owners.
  • Provide field-wide contact with all personnel in the event of an emergency or other significant occurrences.
  • Ensure the maintenance of all company equipment, including computers, vehicles, and analysis or test equipment.
  • Represent the company in the delivery/receipt of materials and equipment.
  • Maintain regulatory, environmental, and safety compliance in conjunction with and through close coordination with the Operations Engineers, Superintendents, Foremen, and the Environmental Health and Safety Department.
  • Actively participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge in lease site operations.
  • Report incidents, accidents, or near misses promptly to supervisors.
  • Participate in incident investigations.
  • Review operating parameters recorded into systems if SCADA is unavailable.
  • Develop an understanding of operational issues at lease sites.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to implement timely and effective solutions.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in ProdView, Eagle app, Cygnet, and Pi.
  • Ensure SOPs are followed.
  • Prioritize projects.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the importance of safety and regulatory compliance (especially around emissions and spills).
  • Make recommendations for the optimization of lease site operations.
  • Recognize, analyze, and resolve complex problems at lease sites, taking corrective action in emergency and non-emergency situations, contributing to operational efficiency and safety.
