Pipeline Pigging Technicians are responsible for the operation and maintenance of pipelines, ensuring the integrity and efficiency of pigging operations. They work with various pipeline systems, manage corrosion control programs, and perform scheduled maintenance tasks. The role involves work in the field and may require training on additional systems as needed.

Requirements

  • Pipeline Pigging Technicians require specialized skills in operating and maintaining pipeline inspection tools known as pigs to ensure pipeline integrity.
  • Qualifications typically include a high school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by vocational training or certification in pipeline technology, safety protocols, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience with hydraulic systems, knowledge of pipeline specifications, and proficiency in using diagnostic equipment are essential for effective performance in this role.
  • High School Diploma/General Education Diploma (GED)/Higher Secondary education is required.

Responsibilities

  • Operating and maintaining pipeline inspection tools known as pigs to ensure pipeline integrity and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Conducting routine inspections, monitoring pigging operations for detecting corrosion, blockages, and other anomalies within the pipeline system.
  • Documenting findings and coordinating with chemical team to recommend maintenance or repairs based on pigging data analysis.
  • Ensuring adherence to safety protocols and following strict safety regulations.
  • Other duties as needed per Chemical Foreman.
