About The Position

Responsible for the safe and efficient operation, monitoring, and maintenance of wells, processing units, and related facilities. Strong focus on oil, gas, and water separation operations, along with utilities and overall field operations. This role supports a large project including new facility startup, use of operating procedures, permitting systems, and training. Candidates with startup and commissioning experience are highly preferred.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; technical or trade certification preferred
  • Prior Lease Operator / Production Technician experience required
  • Strong understanding of oil & gas production operations and surface equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret process data and schematics
  • Experience with permitting systems (PTW) and gas testing
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Comfortable working rotating schedules and on-call as needed
  • Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs and climbing ladders
  • Able to use SCBA and field safety equipment
  • Strong computer skills for reporting and monitoring

Nice To Haves

  • Production Technician background strongly preferred
  • Must understand well flow dynamics
  • Experience with chokes, DEHI systems, and compression operations preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain personal and team safety while enforcing all safety policies
  • Serve as primary operations contact for assigned facilities
  • Understand process flow, basic chemistry, and system line-ups
  • Monitor and inspect equipment using sight, sound, smell, and touch
  • Issue Safe Work Permits and perform gas testing for maintenance activities
  • Perform routine production monitoring (gauging tanks, reading meters, sampling, DP checks, chemical rates)
  • Identify and respond to leaks, freezing, overheating, or abnormal conditions
  • Adjust operating parameters (pressure, temperature, flow) to maintain production targets
  • Maintain accurate gauge sheets and production records
  • Coordinate oil sales and saltwater hauling
  • Perform basic maintenance (filters, lube oil, packing, steam traps, etc.)
  • Communicate regularly with Production Foreman on conditions and changes
  • Conduct equipment winterization/summerization
  • Use handheld and computer-based monitoring tools
  • Inspect and maintain safety equipment (fire extinguishers, SCBA, etc.)
  • Support environmental compliance and minimize emissions/spills
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
