About The Position

The Lease and Rental Supervisor at the University of Minnesota is responsible for overseeing the Fleet Rental program, ensuring exceptional customer service, and managing the administration of vehicle leases and rentals. This role involves coordinating with various departments, analyzing fleet vehicle usage, and providing leadership for Fleet Services, which includes regulatory compliance and accident reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or a combination of related education and work experience totaling at least four years.
  • Valid driver's license and a two-year clean driving record.
  • Prior operations/management experience is preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Fleet or Rental Operations, including fleet management software.
  • Knowledge and working ability in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge and working ability in AS400, FASTER, and Fleet Commander.
  • Knowledge of Minnesota license and registration requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Administer Fleet Rental program/pool and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Monitor fleet email and resolve customer service issues as they arise.
  • Coordinate temporary parking pass sales and oversee Front Desk staffing levels.
  • Track vehicle usage, rental days, and fuel uploads to maintain appropriate levels.
  • Assist with analysis of fleet vehicle inventory and make recommendations for acquisitions and disposals.
  • Oversee courtesy vehicle process and consult with Shop Manager.
  • Facilitate relationship with Enterprise vehicle rental for fleet availability.
  • Complete monthly review of lease and rental records and resolve issues.
  • Assist with analysis of lease vehicle usage for cost savings.
  • Update annual billing rates for rental/lease and maintain vehicle class data.
  • Perform in-depth reporting and analysis of lease and rental pools.
  • Administer Fleet Accident Reporting program and provide administrative support for the Vehicle Safety Board.
  • Handle processing of accident reports and vehicle placement.
  • Document and review each case of accidents involving UMN vehicles.
  • Provide data for budgetary related analysis and maintain Fleet records.
