The Learning Technologist at Smith College will primarily be responsible for the system administration of Moodle Workplace, specifically for all Executive Education non-degree programming. This role acts as a technical resource supporting the various platforms utilized within the department, ensuring a seamless learner and faculty experience that intersects with technology. The Learning Technologist will analyze program and participant data to identify opportunities for program enhancements and will provide facilitation, administrative support, content design, and apply adult learning principles to enhance programming effectiveness. In managing technology and systems, the Learning Technologist will apply adult learning theory and best practices to create interactive learning experiences through the LMS platform, reinforcing course content. Responsibilities include creating and updating program sites and courses for various delivery modes, providing instructional and technical support to faculty and learners, managing upgrades to the LMS, and staying current with learning technology trends. The role also involves developing training materials and visual aids for onboarding learners and faculty. Data analysis is a significant component of this position, where the Learning Technologist will develop and implement post-program surveys, track enrollment and participant progress, identify trends in utilization, and create departmental dashboards. The synthesis of this data will be crucial for making informed programming recommendations. Additionally, the Learning Technologist will coordinate program logistics, manage faculty and participant invoicing, and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
