About The Position

Bishop DuBourg High School, a co‑educational Catholic school dedicated to educating a diverse community and helping young people reach their full potential, is accepting applications for a Learning Support Specialist for the 2026–2027 school year. This role plays a critical part in supporting students with diverse learning needs by administering assessments, designing individualized interventions, and coordinating support services to promote student success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, Reading, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success in teaching and supporting diverse learners.
  • Strong communication skills for working effectively with students, faculty, and families.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, and adherence to school policies.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage caseloads, maintain accurate records, and track student progress and communication.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain current knowledge of federal, state, and Archdiocesan regulations related to student learning support, including diagnostic assessments, special education law, IDEA, and individualized learning plans (IEPs, 504s, ISPs) as they apply in Catholic school settings.
  • Administer and interpret a wide range of appropriate educational assessments to identify and evaluate student needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers to support best practices in inclusive education and classroom adaptations that meet diverse learning needs.
  • Establish and maintain a working relationship with the LEA (St. Louis Public Schools) for special education assessments and services.
  • Collect, analyze, and communicate essential data to faculty, families, and agencies to guide educational planning.
  • Develop individualized, data‑informed goals and learning strategies in collaboration with faculty, care teams, and families.
  • Regularly monitor and assess student progress through diagnostic tools and classroom observation.
  • Coordinate and provide individual and small‑group instructional support, including push‑in and pull-out interventions aligned with identified learning needs and documented plans.
