About The Position

The Learning Resource (LR) Tools Specialist at WGU is responsible for the implementation, configuration, customization, and troubleshooting of learning resource tools used within the institution. This role involves providing technical expertise, user training, and support while collaborating with education technology engineers and vendors to ensure effective integration and functionality of LR tools. The specialist will also manage vendor partnerships, conduct quality assurance, and enhance the overall learning experience through documentation and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Two or more years of experience in implementing and supporting learning resource tools in a higher education environment.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in configuring and troubleshooting LR tools.
  • Experience providing user training and support for LR tools.
  • Experience with online learning platforms, learning management systems (LMS), and educational technologies used in online and hybrid learning environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Education, Educational Technology, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Experience in project management related to LR tool implementations.
  • Familiarity with learning analytics and assessment development.
  • Previous experience in evaluating and recommending LR tools for adoption.
  • Certification in educational technology or related areas.

Responsibilities

  • Implement LR tools within the online university environment, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Possess technical expertise in LR tool configuration and troubleshooting to resolve issues and optimize functionality.
  • Provide user training and support for faculty, staff, and students on the effective use of LR tools.
  • Customize and configure LR tools to meet the specific needs and requirements of the institution.
  • Engage with education technology LR Tool Engineers to collaborate on enhancements and improvements to LR tool functionality.
  • Manage partnerships with LR tool vendors, including communication, negotiation, and collaboration on tool development and support.
  • Conduct quality assurance and testing of LR tools to ensure reliability, performance, and security.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to LR tool implementation, configuration, troubleshooting, and best practices.
  • Share knowledge and best practices with team members and stakeholders to promote effective use of LR tools.
  • Provide light project management oversight for LR tool implementation and enhancement projects.
