About The Position

The Role Capital One’s Card Shared Services: Learning & Knowledge team is looking for a dynamic manager to lead a team of professionals in building a strategic, high-impact operational and training program infrastructure. In this role, you will collaborate with L&D partners and business stakeholders to ensure our learning delivery is consistent, well-managed, and operationally rigorous. You’ll empower your team to translate industry trends and business data into efficient governance and streamlined processes. As a key member of the L&D organization, you will join a high-caliber collective within Facilitation Delivery and Global Performance Enablement. As the Learning Manager you will serve as the primary architect of high-impact solutions, leveraging a deep mastery of operational and change management frameworks. You are someone who can seamlessly integrate plans into horizontal processes to support our learning ecosystem. Strategic, Consultative Learning Partner: Capable of managing complex prioritizations across L&D. You don't just deliver operational solutions; you evolve the interaction model between Learning and Operations to ensure every program is anchored in sound methodology and responsive to business demands. Whether acting as a high-level liaison or a direct people leader, you possess the professional maturity to lead, influence, and shape vision as L&D evolves. Experienced People Manager: Has a proven track record of leading and developing teams of professionals in the L&D space. Passionate about coaching and mentoring direct reports to build best-in-class learning delivery experiences, as well as fostering and contributing to an overarching culture of continuous improvement. Data-driven Problem Solver: Has high business acumen and learning agility. Uses feedback, data, industry trends, and insights to distill problem statements and drive decisions that align to our delivery operational needs. Can work backwards from business problems and performance goals to advance aligned and impactful learning solutions. Requirements

  • Exceptional consultative and stakeholder engagement skills to navigate complex business requirements and translate them into seamless operational delivery plans.
  • Demonstrated history of leading delivery or facilitation teams, with a proven ability to build a vision for operational excellence and scalable execution.
  • Extensive expertise in adult learning delivery trends, including virtual facilitation, hybrid learning environments, and performance-based evaluation.
  • High level of initiative and ownership, with a solutions-oriented mindset capable of troubleshooting complex logistical or environmental challenges.
  • Proven success in process optimization, specifically in driving efficiencies within a high-volume, matrixed learning environment.
  • Strong communication and influence skills, with the ability to align stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional partners at all levels of the organization.
  • The agility to manage ambiguity and lead through change, maintaining delivery momentum in a fast-paced, evolving corporate landscape.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
  • At least 4 years experience leading teams with 3 or more direct reports
  • At least 4 years of facilitation experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in a learning methodology (such as ADDIE, SAM, Facilitation Techniques, etc.)
  • At least 2 years of experience using Microsoft Office or Google Suite

Responsibilities

  • Operational Learning Leadership Collaborate with L&D and business leaders to establish robust delivery protocols, scheduling norms, and resource allocation models that ensure seamless learning execution and optimized throughput.
  • Maintain a pulse on delivery technologies and classroom innovations, empowering your team to facilitate high-impact, engaging experiences that meet diverse associate needs and drive speed-to-proficiency.
  • Drive operational rigor by overseeing the logistics, deployment, and lifecycle management of learning programs, ensuring every delivery is consistent, measurable, and scalable.
  • Strategic Consultation & Partnership Partner with L&D peers and Line of Business stakeholders to translate annual learning agendas into actionable delivery roadmaps and deployment strategies.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business partners, balancing urgent operational demands with high-quality delivery standards to ensure associates are day-one ready to support our customers.
  • Sync with business cycles and volume forecasts to anticipate staffing and facilitation needs, providing proactive recommendations for scaling delivery capacity in both current and future states.
  • Identify efficiencies across the delivery ecosystem, optimizing the use of internal facilitators, external vendors, and physical or virtual learning spaces.
  • People Management & Performance Lead a high-performing delivery team (Facilitators, Coordinators, or Program Managers) to execute exceptional learning events while navigating complex project scopes and shifting business constraints.
  • Coach and develop learning professionals to elevate the standard of facilitation, ensuring they deliver results at the speed of business and maintain excellence in the learner experience.
  • Cultivate a culture of accountability, where team members are empowered to manage delivery risks and proactively resolve obstacles in the learning environment.
  • Data-Driven Operational Solving Leverage delivery metrics, learner feedback, and business performance data to assess the effectiveness of learning interventions and recommend strategic adjustments to delivery models.
  • Use structured problem-solving techniques to address delivery bottlenecks, ensuring the right resources are deployed at the right time to solve the most critical performance gaps.
  • Translate operational insights and delivery KPIs into clear, business-relevant narratives that demonstrate the ROI of learning investments to stakeholders.
