About The Position

The Learning Experience Designer at Oklahoma State University will play a crucial role in creating inclusive and impactful learning experiences. This position involves collaborating with accessibility and assistive technology experts to develop accessible learning materials, including online courses and web content, while ensuring compliance with accessibility standards. The designer will utilize various tools and platforms to produce high-quality educational content and may also present on accessibility topics at workshops and conferences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Education, or related field.
  • Three years of learning experience or instructional design experience, or a Master's degree with one year of experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in creating inclusive and impactful learning experiences.
  • Deep understanding of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Instructional Design principles.
  • Experience using tools such as Articulate Rise 360, Canvas, and WordPress to create learning content.
  • Ability to communicate complex topics in an easily understandable way.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Five years of learning experience or instructional design experience.
  • Two years of experience in digital accessibility.
  • Certified Professional of Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) or equivalent certification.
  • Familiarity with digital accessibility laws and regulations such as ADA Title II and Section 508.
  • Experience testing content for accessibility with tools such as WAVE and screen readers.

Responsibilities

  • Create a variety of accessible learning materials including online courses, web pages, and reference materials.
  • Guide the organization in selecting materials that meet audience needs and organizational goals.
  • Lead efforts to ensure all learning materials comply with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Utilize accessibility testing tools such as WAVE and Colour Contrast Analyser to test content for accessibility.
  • Present and train on accessibility-related topics at workshops and conferences.
  • Collaborate with a remote team using tools such as Asana and Microsoft Teams.
