About The Position

The Learning & Engagement Coordinator at Buffalo Toronto Public Media will provide essential administrative support to the Learning & Engagement Department, focusing on education initiatives funded by the organization. This role involves managing the PBS LearningMedia presence, assisting with various educational events, and coordinating project materials for community organizations and schools. The position offers a hybrid work environment, combining remote and in-office responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of an associate degree in English, Education, Urban Studies, Social Work, Community Development, or a related field, or equivalent two years of experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in an administrative capacity; education, community outreach, and/or non-profit preferred.
  • Strong presentation skills and familiarity interacting with various ages, audiences, learning levels, and backgrounds.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; experience with curriculum writing is a plus.
  • Knowledge of current educational technology practices and digital education resources.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer programs including Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) preferred.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop, Canva, or similar programs preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Learning & Engagement Department for all organization-funded education initiatives.
  • Manage BTPM's PBS LearningMedia presence.
  • Assist with virtual, in-studio, and community education events.
  • Coordinate project-related materials for distribution to community organizations and schools.
  • Create original educational content, plans, and resources for various platforms and target audiences.
  • Support educational and community outreach events.
  • Independently organize, schedule, and facilitate workshops/seminars as assigned.
  • Assist in cultivating and developing educational community partnerships and initiatives.
  • Coordinate activities of the Community Advisory Board and Educational Services Committee.
  • Provide administrative support, including handling meeting hospitality and materials.
