The Learning/Development - Trainer 3 position is located in Elkridge, MD, and is a 12-month contract role. The trainer will be responsible for training personnel to identify, troubleshoot, and remediate software issues, working closely with software programmers and test and integration teams. The role involves designing, coding, testing, and integrating software updates for the COBRA Command and Control Center operational software. The trainer will also become a subject matter expert, performing skills gap analysis and developing courses to teach customer personnel how to code, test software updates, and integrate modifications into the operational software baseline. Communication of project status to the Training IPT Lead is also a key responsibility.

  • Train personnel to identify, troubleshoot, and remediate software issues
  • Work with software programmers and test and integration teams to design, code, test and integrate software updates to the COBRA Command and Control Center operational software
  • Support the development, installation, integration, and testing of software updates for the COBRA Command and Control Center for customer delivery
  • Become the subject matter expert able to perform skills gap analysis and plan, develop and implement a series of courses to teach customer personnel to code and test software updates and scripts
  • Communicate project status to the COBRA Command and Control Center Training IPT Lead
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science with 10 years of experience, or a master's degree in computer science with 5 years of experience
  • Working knowledge in two of the following languages: C++, C, Java, HTML/XML, Fortran
  • Working knowledge of Linux Operating Systems such as Redhat, AlmaLinux, Windows Powershell, or OpenVMS DCL
  • Expert knowledge of structured programming techniques
  • Very knowledgeable of Instructional System Design (ISD) rooted in Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate (ADDIE) methodology
  • Working knowledge of Agile development methodologies
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Demonstrated ability to use basic manual tools
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Practitioner knowledge of software programming languages, test and integration
  • Experience to program, test and integrate software for military systems
  • Certified Military (Navy, Army, USAF) Instructor with programming experience
