About The Position

The Learning & Development Specialist I is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing training activities throughout the Company. This role involves identifying training needs and designing support materials including audio-visual aids, computer presentations, manuals, workbooks, and scripts. The specialist assists in evaluating the effectiveness of training programs and employee performance, maintains training library resources, and distributes materials to managers, personnel, and volunteers as needed. Additionally, the specialist assists in the preparation of the Learning and Development budget and coordinates library resources with Company objectives and goals, providing support in the planning and implementation of large events and meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in organizational communication or organizational development.
  • Understanding of job functions and operations at all levels of the Company.
  • Knowledge of training systems and resources.
  • Two to four years of experience in training related positions.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to plan, develop, and implement curriculum.
  • Well organized with solid communication abilities.
  • Able to meet deadlines and operate basic business equipment.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Software products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective Training policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Assist management in identifying Credit Union learning and development needs.
  • Evaluate training programs and services, providing recommendations for improvements.
  • Assist in the design and development of training procedures and programs.
  • Prepare audio-visual aids, training manuals, scripts, and workbooks.
  • Conduct training sessions to ensure Company personnel are effective in their respective positions.
  • Deliver employee orientations, on-the-job training programs, and in-service activities.
  • Maintain a Training Resources library and related audio-visual equipment.
  • Coordinate and schedule training activities.
  • Complete training functions in accordance with established programs and procedures.
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination with Company personnel and Management.
  • Write and prepare training articles.
  • Stay current on training programs and procedures.
