About The Position

This role is ideal for a student pursuing a degree in Instructional Design, Learning Technologies, Educational Technology, or a related field who is interested in applying adult learning principles in a corporate environment. This internship is designed to be a meaningful, immersive experience. In addition to hands-on project work, the intern will have opportunities to: Build a portfolio of instructional design and eLearning development work Learn how corporate training is designed, managed, and delivered in a global manufacturing organization Gain exposure to LMS administration and learning technologies Develop professional communication and business etiquette skills through daily in-office collaboration Engage with interns from other departments and participate in company-sponsored internship activities The Learning & Development Intern will support the design, development, and modernization of training content used across Johnson Screens’ global workforce, working closely with L&D team members, subject matter experts, and cross-functional partners.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Instructional Design, Learning Technologies, Educational Technology, Human Resources, or a related field
  • Demonstrated interest in learning and development and adult learning principles
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail with the ability to follow established standards and templates
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with instructional design models such as ADDIE
  • Experience or coursework related to eLearning development
  • Exposure to tools such as Articulate Rise or Storyline, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, or similar design tools
  • Comfort learning and adapting to new software and technology platforms
  • Interest in global learning, localization, or content standardization

Responsibilities

  • Assist in updating and converting existing learning content to align with global use cases and organizational standards
  • Support the design and development of eLearning modules, job aids, and other training materials using instructional design best practices
  • Participate in content localization efforts to ensure learning materials are accessible and effective for global audiences
  • Help transition legacy content from Microsoft Publisher into Adobe InDesign
  • Participate in the development of the Johnson Screens version of SafeStart training
  • Support basic Learning Management System (LMS) administration tasks, including content uploads, testing, and reporting
  • Collaborate onsite with L&D team members and subject matter experts to review, revise, and improve training materials
  • Support project coordination and documentation as needed
