To provide central administrative, operational, and project management coordination for the Lipscomb University Learning Commons. This position is essential to the integration and smooth functioning of the component departments, including the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL), the Office of Accessibility and Learning Supports (OALS), and the Academic Success Center (ASC). The Coordinator acts as a primary support for the Senior Executive Director of the Learning Commons, ensuring that strategic initiatives are supported through excellent organization, communication, and management of key institutional projects.

  • Support the Senior Executive Director of the Learning Commons.
  • Coordinate the annual preparation, editing, and publication process for the University Catalog and degree plans, liaising with academic departments and university leadership to ensure accuracy and timely submission.
  • Oversee daily office operations, including managing office supplies, equipment maintenance, and ensuring a clean and organized work environment.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external communications, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and handling correspondence.
  • Manage calendars for ASC space and ensure all logistics are handled efficiently.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and assisting students, faculty and staff in a professional manner.
  • Coordinate with Librarians to hire, train, and provide ongoing support for the Learning Commons Central student worker team.
  • Coordinate the creation and distribution of a regular Learning Commons newsletter and manage the master schedule for Learning Commons workshops and events.
  • Coordinate logistics for faculty development events, including catering, material preparation, registration, and follow-up communications.
  • Approve student worker timecards and assist with data management for tracking documents.
  • Serve as a trained backup exam proctor for students with accommodations, as needed.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for large-scale events like the university career and graduate school fairs.
  • Perform purchasing, budgeting, ordering of supplies, and credit card reconciliation for the Learning Commons departments.
  • Schedule and proctor CLEP tests for students.
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a higher education setting.
  • Experience with project management or large-scale coordination is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • High level of professionalism and discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on serving students, faculty, and staff.
  • Proactive, self-starting attitude with the ability to anticipate needs and solve problems independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and Google Workspace; ability to quickly learn new software platforms and willingness to use AI tools to maximize efficiency.
