The role requires consulting with classroom teachers and parents, delivering services within the IEP framework, and serving as an instructor in both general and special education classrooms. Clear objectives for lessons and projects must be established and communicated to students. Regular assessment of student accomplishments is required, along with maintaining accurate records as mandated by law and district policy. The educator will also analyze standardized testing data to adjust instructional strategies and recognize the special needs of students, seeking assistance from district specialists when necessary. Building effective relationships with parents and students through regular communication is essential, as is maintaining a safe and orderly classroom environment. Additional duties may be assigned by district administration.
