About The Position

Siemens Mobility Inc. is seeking a Training Academy Manager to establish a comprehensive training program for railroad technicians and customers in the railroad industry. This role focuses on developing and delivering impactful learning experiences, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and shaping the future workforce through training initiatives. The position involves collaboration with academic institutions and managing apprenticeship programs, ensuring the success of employees and customers in the railroad sector.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 8 years of work experience in the learning and development field.
  • Experience maintaining or training others on a transportation fleet (i.e. airplanes, railroad, large trucks, machinery, etc.).
  • Experience with traditional Learning Management Systems.
  • Experience in managing training activities.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills.
  • Experience working with Universities, Colleges, and Intermediaries.
  • Experience with federal funding for accredited education programs.
  • Strong proficiency with all Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent English language technical communication skills in speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Experience leading a training team.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Learning or Instructional Design, Human Resources, Organizational Development or other technical or business field of study.
  • Experience in training programs in Marine, Automobile, or Aviation.
  • Experience in railway field or similar fleet maintenance operations.
  • Knowledge of Railroad Regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Create and lead all aspects of a comprehensive Training Plan for a new platform.
  • Identify and outline necessary resources, personnel, locations, and program objectives.
  • Define the strategy, tactics, and vision for training and apprenticeship programs.
  • Secure government funding and navigate regulatory requirements.
  • Lead large-scale learning and development projects.
  • Collaborate with collegiate institutions.
