About the position

The Learning and Development Coordinator at Avista Corporation is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing innovative training initiatives and programs that align with the company's learning and development objectives. This role involves analyzing business needs, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring that training strategies enhance employee effectiveness and customer experience. The coordinator will oversee various learning methods, including instructor-led and virtual training, while ensuring compliance with industry best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement training programs and materials to meet learning objectives.
  • Analyze business needs and partner with stakeholders to develop effective learning strategies.
  • Maximize the impact of various learning methods, including instructor-led, virtual, and blended learning programs.
  • Provide oversight and direction to instructors and contractors in training program execution.
  • Ensure learning and development strategies align with corporate strategies and industry standards.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in learning development and training design, development, and delivery in a complex industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or related field.
  • Master's degree or advanced training/certifications preferred.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver various types of learning initiatives using multiple approaches.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in instructional design and understanding of adult learning principles.
  • Effective communication skills with various audiences, including collaboration and conflict resolution.
  • Project management skills with the ability to execute multiple assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and authoring tools/design software (Articulate 360 and HTML preferred).
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and supporting end users.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with emerging learning technologies.
